Pumpkin Smoothies

For the entire month of October we will be doing all things Fall.....colorful leaves, pumpkins, talking about the change of weather, Halloween, etc.  I love Fall (when we actually get fall.....living in Kansas, you never know what kind of weather you will get)!  Anyway, today we made pumpkin smoothies.....and I have to say I wasn't sure how they were going to turn out.....but they were yummy and will definitely make them again!  The recipe is posted at the bottom.

When I opened up the can of pumpkin, everyone wanted to smell it.....surprisingly they all thought it smelled good.

This recipe is super easy.....just dump everything in the blender.
Pumpkin

Safety knife (Pampered Chef of course!).....these are great when cooking with kids.  They are able to help cut without worrying that they are going to cut themselves.....some of the kids wanted to help cut up the banana.

Pumpkin, banana, orange juice, evaporated milk and brown sugar

Blend it all together.

Pour into individual glasses.

Top with cool whip.....I used my easy accent decorator to make them look pretty.....also easy for kids to use!

Add straws and enjoy!
Some of the kids wanted cool whip and some didn't.  Doesn't it look gooood!
(I think in the end, they all decided the cool whip looked pretty good and asked for some on top!)

Here's the Recipe....it was taken from the First Mennonite Church Pumpkin Patch Treasury.  We will be trying a bunch of recipes from it this month......everything pumpkin!

Pumpkin Smoothie
1 3/4 cups canned pumpkin, chilled
12 oz. evaporated milk, chilled
1 1/2 cups orange juice
1/2 cup banana sliced (we did a little more cause that's what we cut up)
1/3 cup brown sugar, packed

Place all ingredients in blender and blend well.
If desired, put cool whip on top and sprinkle with cinnamon.
