PARTY!!!! (Part 1)

This post is all about the food we ate at our party today.
I made spider web brownies......I haven't made these in like 5 years, so I was hoping they turned out ok.....and they did.  I had an extra box of brownie mix just in case.
You will need parchment paper (cut in a circle).  I use my large round stone from.....who else, but Pampered Chef.  I cut my circle just a little bit smaller then the stone and layed it on top.  Then mix up a batch of your favorite brownies......I made these according to the directions on the box.

Then pour onto the parchment paper and spread it out almost to the edge.  The parchment paper keeps the brownie from running off the edge.

Then bake.....I am not exactly sure how long to bake.....you will just have to watch it.....I kind of lost track of time and almost forgot about them!

When you are done and they have cooled.....I waited til this morning so the kids could all watch.....they thought it was pretty cool.  They also picked out the spiders and told me where to put them.  I just took cream cheese frosting, put it in a baggy and snipped one corner......then just went around the entire brownie with it.  When you are done, take a toothpick and start in the middle and drag out......go all the way around and it looks like a spider web.  Very easy and very delicious!  There were so many fun ideas that I saw on Pinterest to make for the kids or with the kids for today, but in the end I came back to this......I knew they would love it and eat it......some of the stuff looked cute, but figured they would eat one or two bites and be done.

Along with our brownie, we had orange jigglers and orange punch (2 liter of sprite and a pkg of orange kool-aid).

Don't you just love the orange Solo cups with lids and straws?!  I do..... I found them at Target.....they come in a pack of 15....orange and black.  I am not sure if they have them just for Halloween or if they have them all the time.....I am loving them though....perfect for the kids!

Next was lunch.....I wanted to do somthing fun for them, but also needed it to be something they would actually eat.  So, I made them mummies.  They are just hotdogs wrapped in the Pillsbury breadstick dough.  Before wrapping them up, I rolled the dough out flat and cut them in half length wise so it was easier to wrap them.  Then just wrap around the hot dog and cute a little slit for the eyes.  When they are done, you can make 2 eyes with mustard.  I also cut grapes in half and we all thought they looked like eyeballs!

This afternoon, I was going to make this but again I wanted the kids to eat it and wasn't sure if they would.....I was going to form them into balls to look like pumpkins (may try this another time).  So, instead we will be popping popcorn and adding some candy corn......and maybe some more brownie.....they were all asking for more.  Warning to Parents: your child may be on a sugar high!  We will be eating it while watching "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown."

Tomorrow I will show you our white pumpkin.....the kids voted on what they wanted to carve.....I think it turned out really cool!
