National Pig Day

Wow, what a busy day we have had.  I am just now getting a moment to actually sit down!  So, I am making this post short......we did lots of celebrating for Dr. Seuss' birthday, but will share that with you tomorrow.  We just got back from celebrating National Pig Day at Parkside with the residents.

We first learned some fun facts about pigs.....the kids had fun guessing the answers to their questions..... like how many toes they have, are they clean animals, how many teeth do they have, etc.

Then in came the guest of honor......Willie, the pot-bellied pig!  He was all dressed up for the occasion.....in his tuxedo, top hat and sunglasses!  He is also house broken......no thank you!

The kids were very excited!

They were feeding him apples.....and they let the kids do it as well.

Before leaving, the children handed out their pig coloring pages they colored for the residents.  The children were also given a snack of pigs-in-a-blanket, red piggy banks to take home and muddy buddies (pig food).

What a fun afternoon spent with the residents at Parkside!  We are so thankful that they invited us to come and celebrate with them and for all their goodies they gave the children!!!
