Marble Shamrocks

The next 2 weeks we will be talking about St. Patrick's Day, Shamrocks, and Rainbows.  Today we made marble shamrocks with shaving cream......do you remember this post when I said I would show you how to make marble painting with shaving cream, well here it is.  It is so easy to do and you can do this project on regular paper with lots of colors or any shape you desire.  We used a shamrock shape and green paint.  We used construction paper (cause that's what I had), but a heavier paper works really good too.....like cardstock or poster board.

Have the kids (the ones that are strong enough) squirt some shaving cream onto a plate or tray and then smooth it out the best you can.

Then squirt the paint of your choice on the shaving cream.....we used green.

Then take a toothpick and swirl the paint into the shaving cream.

After you get the look you want, press your shamrock shape or other shape into the paint and shaving cream.  Press lightly and then lift straight up.

Let the paper set for a minute and then use a flat scraper to scrape off the shaving cream.  The paint will remain on the paper and leave a marbled effect on the paper.

We will definitely be doing more marble shaving cream projects.....the kids thought it was really cool to see their design and it was fun to do!
