Pinata

Well we finished up our "preschool time" for the year!  It was so fun to see their progress throughout the year.  Eventhough all the kids will remain at my house for the summer, I still wanted to stop our preschool stuff and focus on summer fun once the big kids are done with school......everybody needs a break!!!  So, for the last few days we made a pinata......this was fun for all of the kids.  Of course the school kids wanted to join in on the hitting of the pinata and the treats inside!

We started out by covering the balloon in newspaper strips dipped in a flour / water mixture.  I was surprised at how well they did with this part.

Thankfully it was a warm day, so we let the pinata dry outside to harden up.

Then they got busy decorating it.....we just cut crepe paper into squares and glued them on.  Then we painted over it with watered down glue.

Nothing fancy, but oh so fun to do!

Hitting the pinata!  They were so excited.....they kept asking me what was inside it.....I put the candy and stuff inside it when they weren't here, so it was a surprise.

B hit it so hard, it fell down!

The top broke open, but some of the kids didn't get a chance to hit it, so we propped it up on the tree and let them take a wack at it.

They were all grabbing for the good stuff.....I have to say, they did great sharing with their friends and making sure everyone got a fair amount.

This blog may be quiet for a few weeks.....gonna take a little break once school gets out.  I am trying to plan our summer with lots of outdoor activities to keep the kids busy and not bored!!!  I have a pretty good list already, but want to have things set for certain days.....will try and blog about some of the activities we do each week.....do you plan things with your kids??  Would love to hear new ideas if you have some!
