Bubbles

Do you make your own bubble solution??  Well if you don't, you should.....it's super easy and cheap!  Yesterday, we made some (recipe at the end) and our own bubble wands......perfect morning to be outside.....not so much this morning though.....cool and windy.
We made our wands with a pipe cleaner and some beads.....just string the beads on the pipe cleaner and use that part as the handle.....some of the children even used the letter beads to put their name on their wand.  Once they were done decorating their wand, I helped them shape the end.

The kids showing off their cool bubble wands.

Cooper was not in the mood for pictures!!

Once they were finished, we started blowing bubbles.
I found this idea on Pinterest......cut the bottom of a water bottle and dip in bubble solution and blow.....makes big bubbles......the kids thought they were really fun to blow through.

The Best Bubbles Ever
6 cups water
2 cups Dawn dishwashing liquid
3/4 cup light corn syrup

Mix all ingredients together in a large container of.....an empty juice bottle or milk jug works great.  Shake everything up and let sit for a few hours.   Pour into empty bubbles containers or dishes and go wild with your bubble wands!!

Zoo Trip

Last week after school was out, we took a little field trip to the zoo.....I wanted to start our summer off with a fun trip and before it got too hot.  And we picked the perfect day.....it was a little overcast when we got to the zoo and stayed pretty nice the entire time we were there.  I had 9 of my daycare kids and Nikki came along with her 2 kids to help out cause there's no way I could have done it alone!

The crew!!!

Cute little booty shot....checking out the flamingos.

Maddox wasn't too thrilled about getting on, so big sister stood with him!

Feeding the sheep.

Cooper wanted to bring this turkey home for Thanksgiving Dinner!

Checking out the penguins.

Swinging like the monkeys!

They had the best time feeding the giraffes.  You have to watch out when you are up there, Cooper turned around too close to one of them and it licked his hair!!!

Check out that tongue!

I love this picture!!

Maddox wasn't real excited about the giraffe getting so close!

We were a little bummed at the tiger exhibit.....not sure where the tigers were, they are normally up close to the glass, but we coudn't find them anywhere.

We had a little picnic lunch.....they were starving eventhough they had a snack about a hour before.

Then we got on the tram and rode to see the reptiles.

They asked the entire time when they were going to see the BIG snake......this was one of their favorite things to see.

Last stop for a picture.....so of the kids were DONE!!!  No pictures, please!!!

Before we headed home though, we stopped for a special treat at Braum's for some ice cream.....they all deserved it, they did AWESOME at the zoo!!!  We will definitely have to go on more field trips soon!
