Hibernation

I think this is one of the kids' favorite activities.......coming to my house in their pjs and hibernating in a cave!  Something they look forward to and is always so much fun!
They all brought a teddy bear to hibernate with......mickey mouse and a few other animals joined us as well!

We talked about different food that animals eat before hibernating for the winter......nuts and berries were a few.  So, I picked up different nuts for the children to crack open and try.

A few of the children liked the walnuts, but the peanuts were a huge hit......they loved cracking those open and eating them......they all asked for more!

I also made them some acorns......mini vanilla wafer stuck to a hershey's kiss using melted chocolate.

And teddy grahams covered with melted chocolate and sprinkles on spoons (these were used to stir their hot chocolate).......we used them to represent the bears in their beds.  I then gave them hot chocolate (which was the cave) and marshmallows on top (the snow) and the bears were going in their cave to go to sleep!

Then they ate all their goodies in the cave!

Bear masks!  These were just made with a paper plate and cotton balls.....super easy.

So much fun to hibernate and stay in pjs all day!!!!!
