FOOD!!!

Here is some of the food we made yesterday.....we did the resurrection rolls for a morning snack and also some smeeps (peeps s'mores) for the afternoon.
If you have never made resurrection rolls before, they are a must.....I know a lot of parents are always concerned with their children not understanding the meaning of Easter....so here is a fun way for them to learn.

Ingredients:
Crescent rolls
Butter
Cinnamon and sugar
Large marshmallows

Dip the marshmallow (represents the body of Christ) in melted butter and then cover in cinnamon and sugar (this represents the oils and spices the body was anointed with upon burial).

Then wrap in a crescent roll (this represents the tomb that Jesus was layed in) and pinch all the ends together so the marshmallow doesn't leak out.

You could bake them as is, but we then dipped in some more cinnamon and sugar (cause you can't get enough sugar, huh) and then baked according to the directions on the crescent roll package.

I had to laugh cause the kids were very worried that we were baking "Jesus".  I assured them that the marshmallow was just representing Jesus and it wasn't really him!  LOL

Once they are done baking, open the roll (tomb) to see that it is empty.
He has RISEN!!!  He has risen indeed!

All the kids were shocked to see the marshmallow (Jesus) was gone!

For the afternoon we made Smeeps.....these are all over Pinterest right now.....if you haven't gotten on there, you should.....you can find anything and everything on there!

You can do these in the oven under the broiler, which is what we did or pop them in the microwave.

Maddox wanted his all seperate to eat.....not sure how many peeps that boy ate.....probably too many!

The kids loved these......I however did not try them, so not sure!

Happy Easter!
