G is for Gooey

G is for Gooey!  We did 2 activities that were gooey.....pumpkin silly putty (I thought it was more like gak than silly putty though) and digging the guts out of our pumpkin to carve.

Dissolve 3/4 teaspoons of borax in 1 1/3 cups very warm water (set aside).

In separate bowl combine 1 1/2 cups very warm water and orange food coloring.

Add 2 cups of white school glue.

And pumpkin pie spice (add until you reach the desired scent).

Stir together.

Once the ingredients of each bowl are well mixed, combine both bowls.  As the ingredients of both bowls are mixed, the pumpkin putty will begin to form.  Once the ingredients are well enough mixed, you will want to remove the putty from the bowl and finish working it by hand.

And then you're ready to play in it.....save some for yourself, cause it is so much fun!
L wasn't so sure about it!

SO FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When done, keep in an air tight container.

Pumpkin Carving Time!

 Digging out the guts!

Maddox was not a fan!

These girls went crazy pulling the guts out!!!

They each took a turn drawing on parts of the pumpkin.  We even had to add ears and eyebrows!

I think they did a great job!!
