F is for Fall

F is for Fall......the children have been enjoying the leaves falling and watching them turn color.  So, we made our own fall tree

I drew the tree and the children colored in the trunk.

Then using q-tips, they painted their leaves.  The idea was to make dots for their leaves, but I didn't limit that for them.....it was their tree and they could create how they wanted to.

Lots and lots of pretty fall leaves on their trees......and falling down!  I love them!!!

As we discuss the weather in the morning, we always look outside and see what is changing as fall is here!  We took a little walk the other day looking for leaves.....checking out the different shapes, sizes and colors.
Our neighbor, Ray, saw us and brought some acorns for the children to see......he had more in his front yard for us to discover.

We have a field behind our house, so we headed out there to see what we could find.

Our big collection of leaves and acorns.

Sorting

We sorted by color

The acorns we found.

And then they picked out their favorites to press between some books.

One day while playing outside, the children started gathering leaves and making a pile......I (or my husband) may not have to rake this year if they keep this up!

They had to jump in their pile before heading inside!

And D made a leaf angel!!!
