D is for Dinosaurs.......and Donuts!
We started by making some paper plate dinosaurs......each child got half of a large paper plate and half of a small paper plate. They painted them however they wanted.
I had them paint clothes pins as well......they each painted 10 to use for the feet and also for the spikes of the dinosaur.
Once dry, the children decided how they wanted to put them together.......using the small paper plate, I cut the middle out to use for the head and the outside for the tail and they started putting the clothes pins on along with eyes, nose and mouth.
They turned out very cute!
We then made some dinosaur feet......I cut out the feet from poster board and the children then used crayons to decorate them. When they were done, we used some fun duct tape to attach them.......cut a strip of duct tape and fold the sticky sides together to make a strap, then tape on the bottom side. The children had fun stomping around and pretending to be dinosaurs!
My plan was to make donuts with the children to go along with our letter D, but with 2 children being gluten free, I decided to head to the bakery instead! They have gluten free donuts, so everyone was able to get a donut and not be left out! And who doesn't love taking a little field trip to get donuts!??!!!
