Yesterday, we made some Valentine window clings......they take almost a day to dry, so wasn't able to hang up until this morning. All you need is glue, food coloring, wax paper or clear notebook sleeves, toothpicks, plastic knife, and paint brushes. I found some heart templates here that you can print and put in the sleeves.....this worked really well for the children to use as a guide. Pour your glue into separate containers and add whatever food coloring you like.
Once you have everything, let the children fill the hearts up with the glue......a plastic knife or spoon works good for getting lots of glue in the heart and then you can use a paintbrush to spread it around.
You can also add drips of another color and use a toothpick to swirl it into each other.....the children really liked doing that part of it. You could also add glitter to the glue as well.....I thought about that after the fact.....maybe next time.
Then let them dry.....takes about a day to completely dry, depending how thick the glue is.
Once they are dry, dip the backside in water and stick to your windows. Once they have been wet, you shouldn't have to re wet them to stick them on again unless they aren't sticking.
Makes for a very happy window or door!!!!
You can make all kinds of window clings. You could even leave glue in the bottle and squeeze out outlines or letters to hang on your windows as well. It also works to cut the glue, so if something didn't dry quite right you can always cut off parts you don't want or trim up the edges to make them look nicer.
LOVE!!! We will be making these at home!
