I am thankful for:

This morning we read the book "Dinofours It's Thanksgiving!"  It was a great book that talked about having a bad day (which we all have had) and then it ends talking about what they are thankful for.  It was a great introduction into our art project.  Each child made a list of things they were thankful for.....some kept adding to their list, it was precious!  After our list was made, we talked about making a thankful wreath.  So, each child painted 8 clothespins......you can decide how many you want to do.....I bought new ones at Dollar General and there were 50 for $1, so we divided them up.  We chose red, orange and yellow.

When all the clothespins are dry, you can write the things they are thankful for on the clothespins and then either assemble them into a large wreath or individual wreaths.  Some options for the wreaths are a paper plate with the inside cut out and then attach the clothepins to the outside.  You can also bend a wire hanger or use a pipe cleaner for individual wreaths.  We made a large wreath.  We painted the plate gold (their choice) and then attached all the clothespins.  You can even add a bow if you want.  Since I will be sending these home before thanksgiving I plan on printing on cardstock "I am thankful for" and then attach their clothespins to the cardstock.

Here is their list of what each one of them was thankful for:
E: Rainbow (his cat), mommy and daddy, Anna and his toys
B: Dog, mommy and daddy, brother, and her kitty
A: Millie (dog), mommy and daddy, and her toys
J: Brother, mommy and daddy, and her toys
D: Grandpa and grandma, mommy and daddy, her tiny little pumpkin, Gavin, bunny, kitty and her dog
C: Pepper (dog), mommy and daddy, Reese, Maddox, 4-wheeler, tractors, combines, and his crane

Each one of them agreed that we should always be thankful for God.....so everyone wanted to add that to their list!  Love these kids so much......I am so thankful for each on of them!!!  And of course my own family!!!
