Party!!!! (Part 2)

We finally carved our white pumpkin.....let me tell you, it was a tough one!  That baby was so thick, it bent a couple of my carving knives (you know the ones that come in the kits).  Thankfully the design the kids picked wasn't too intricate or it probably wouldn't have worked.  They wanted to do a ghost since the pumpkin was white, so that is what we did.  I had quite a few activities planned for the morning, but the pumpkin took so long that we didn't have time for the other stuff......they didn't seem to care though!  May do some of them today or even Monday.  I planned on doing some pumpkin bowling, pumpkin toss and also painting with pumpkins (roll pumpkins in paint and then roll on butcher paper taped to the driveway).  The kids were more interested in the food and the pumpkin...oh and their goody bags (I wish I would have gotten a picture of them with their vampire teeth in....they were hilarious!)....they could have cared less about the other stuff!



Cooper was going to try the scoop and see if that worked better.

The eyes were supposed to be cut out, but I knew that wasn't going to happen.....so we just drew them on.  I think next year, we may just paint pumpkins.....I found some really cool ideas on Pinterest that I think I will try next year.....can you tell I love Pinterest!  If you haven't checked it out, you should.....and if you need an invite, let me know.

 

I almost forgot about our glue ghosts.....they are so simple.  Give each child a piece of wax paper and some glue.  If you want, you can make a simple pattern for them to put under their wax paper.

Then just let them squeeze as much glue as they want.....my older kids actually outlined the pattern and filled in, but either way works. 

Then add some wiggly eyes and let dry for a couple days.....then just peel them off the wax paper.  You could even poke a hole in the top and hang them.
