Cloud Dough

We made this a few weeks ago and are still playing with it.....I think it was a hit!  All you need is flour and oil (baby oil or cooking oil works.....we used baby oil, but if you are worried about your child putting it in their mouth, then I would use the cooking oil).  Mix 8 cups flour with 1 cup oil (we doubled it) and then mix with your hands until the dough holds together when squeezed.  I put it in a large tub and took it outside......add some cups, spoons, bowls, etc to play with.

I still have this available for the kids to play with while we are outside.....great alternative to sand!

Ivory Soap

I'm sure most of you have seen the ivory soap in the microwave, but if you haven't here it is.  Take a bar of Ivory Soap and place it on a piece of wax paper.  Put in the microwave.....we turned it on for about 3 minutes and just watched it......stop it when you think it's big enough.

Once you take it out of the microwave, it deflates a little.......the kids loved watching it "grow" in the microwave.

They could hardly wait to feel it and see what we were going to do with it.  We did 3 bars, but not at the same time......that would have probably been a mess!  We headed outside with it.

They crumpled it all up and thought it looked like snow.

After the soap was all crumpled up, I told them to grab their suits and we would play in it a little more.....we also microwaved 3 more bars of soap.
That's when they thought it would be fun to throw in the air and look like it was snowing.

Then we put the sprayer on the hose and got all sudsy!

Scrub-a-dub-dub!!!!

Washing those legs!

And the tummy!

And a friends back!

They had a blast with this......just be careful not to get in the eyes.
Parents, if you are wondering......your children are now all clean and you won't have to do baths tonight!!!  You're Welcome!!!

You can also use the ivory soap to make bathtub paint......here is the recipe, or their own soap, or even a clean cloud......just add toilet paper and water and you can mold the soap.
So many options with a bar of Ivory soap.

Paper Rockets

We made some paper rockets last week......very simple and kept the kids entertained for quite a while.

All you need is paper (we just used regular copy paper), glue, tape and bendy straws (not sure if that's the technical term or not!).

Have each child decorate their paper......some of the kids made a design or pattern and others just colored.

Once they are done coloring, roll the paper around a pencil and glue the end.

Then take the pencil out and tape one end closed.

Now the fun begins.......put the rocket on a straw and blow and watch them fly!  You can see in each picture where the straw went.  Some of them were realizing if you aimed it up, it shot up to the ceiling.......this was so much fun.  We had rockets flying everywhere!
